This verse is about opportunity and opening the door for yourself. There are a lot of references to conflict, perseverance, determination and qualities that an indie artist embodies. The rhyme pattern is relatively consistent and features parallel internal rhymes through out the verse and longer sentences than some of my other songs. There are two sections where I purposefully juxtapose the extended sentences with shorter more dense word pairings and rhymes. There is no hook but there is a refrain of sorts. The delivery is more conversational than abstract or call and response. some of the patterns are 9 syllables deep - have a listen
