This verse is a tricky one. Ostensibly it is pulling from a movie quote.. Kill me all - let go sort em out .. or something like that. I am a pacifist, so this statement is inherently troubling for me, but on the other hand, I appreciate the mentality of being unrelenting. It also makes me think of perspective. what if God is saying.. kill em all, God will figure out what to do next.. its like a weird play of the war god of the old testament. Its a very blunt and childish sentiment.. total obliteration.
It poses the question.. what have we learned since Cain and Abel? What happens when people are pushed to a limit and have no other recourse but violence? Is there always another option? Would there be less violence if there were to be more equity?
