Lost and Hopeless

I wrote this song from a perspective of observation - look at the world around us. Look at the people in my community. What is happening, how are we feeling, what is inspiring. At the time, there seemed to be a lot of apathy and disengagement. It seemed as if people were questioning alignment.. political, social, personal. Why keep pushing? Why not give up?

Have you noticed the culture of hypnosis neurosis
the swarm of locus
the end of the world is coming one day is what they say
but still the globe twists
the lost are hopeless in the bliss of show biz

Have you noticed the loss of focus in my folks and kin
the guns and roses, wild psychosis, drugs and dosage
life changes just like hocus pocus
hugs for the closest friends
the lost and hopeless

have you noticed the plioiticians pandering, they stand and grin
and make crooked plans for this land we are in
and say they own it although they stole it
longest say life sucks, don’t it
i only quote it and i notice
beauty in a finite light beam
dream scape serene stream lake Brook that bubbles
i write a book while crooks hustle day and night i got a play to write
no hook my life a puzzle
its quite a struggle
i might break the stage tonight
bare knuckle
miss by the fistful
troubles double just like tribbles
but have you noteiced
the outer space and interspace
some people can’t assimilate
genetics don’t discriminate
i tend to innovate
dmeonstrate
anti mimicry
tendency assembly
a chemistry
energy
and symbols like similes
metaphors of past memories
my mental mirror views the actions of the passions and intensity
all men are free as well as women given one chance with the litany
i de evolve and grow gills with the fish in the sea
don’t listen to me
notice what you were put in existence to be

Have you noticed the lack of moral motives eroded inside components of my polis
with low enrollment
comatose to the laws of Moses
once most devoted, heroic
lost faith in a moments notice

the most stoic feel the pain bit never show it
we fight for land and companies will own it
the pilgrims stole it
opportunity window slowly closes
my community will overdose on the lost and hopeless
